How to Collaborate With Other Streamers

Why collaborate with other streamers? If you combine your audience together you have one bigger audience, so you will both grow from this.

Mistake that a lot of people make is asking the wrong people to collab with them. I know a lot of people make this mistake as I get collab requests from people who want to play PUBG mobile or Apex with me. I play cozy game so that does not match at all.

Nothing wrong with those games, I play shooters in my free time as well. However it does not fit into my niche! If you do not know what a niche is I do recommend watching ‘What I Wish Before I started Streaming’ an other video in this series on how to become a successful Twitch streamer.

How do you find people to collab with?

  • Find them on Social media

  • Same category as you on Twitch

  • Discord communities

  • IRL Events

Who is good to collab with?

  • Same Niche

  • Same Vibe

  • Same Audience group

  • Check their games in their past broadcasts

  • Schedule

If you ask for a collab, you should be the one flexible with time and planning.\

HAVE A PLAN

Think about what activity you want to do as collab. you can come up with multiple ideas.

If they live close you can invite them over or you can use Twitch Guest star or Discord to hang out online.

Are you going to stream on both channels or just on yours? Are you going to both use camera’s?

Make sure that you mute yourself when thanking followers and subscribers so the other streamer doesn’t hear that on their stream.

Give shoutouts and discuss beforehand HOW and WHERE you will do the shoutouts for eachother.

Nobody wants to collab with an absolute stranger. That is why Networking is very important before collaborating with other streamers.

  • About networking

Before asking people to collab hang out in their streams or Discord to get to know them a little.

Practice: Find 1 streamers you vibe with and think of 2 collaborate ideas. If you are shy you don’t have to actually send them yet. But go for it if you dare!
